The life of a restaurant critic might seem like a pretty sweet deal; eating out at some of the finest restaurants in the world and making a comfortable living at it to boot. But as New York Times restaurant critic Frank Bruni recently revealed in a CNN article, keeping one’s anonymity while reviewing restaurants can be a daunting task for even the stealthiest of secret agents.

Mmm, Diplomacy

According to a recent New York Times article, while world officials and leaders met at the UN summit in New York City on Monday, a more delicious kind of diplomacy went on in the nearby town of Great Neck: Culinary diplomacy served up by Kim Yoon-ok, wife of South Korea President Lee Myung-bak, in the form of traditional Korean cuisine.

Chinese Tax on US Chicken Feet

China announced on Sunday that it is considering imposing huge taxes on imported American chicken wings and feet in response to President Obama’s approval of a tariff on Chinese made tires, according to a recent New York Times article.  The tariff of up to 35% on tires was approved by Obama in an attempt to promote the American auto industry and, in a larger sense,  to lower the deficit by focusing on national production instead of importing.

Bento Boxes Win Lunch Fans
