Moshulu Restaurant Restaurant
Restaurant Review
While it has been over a century since the Moshulu first hit the high seas, guests can board her docks right off of Philadelphia’s pier. While the still-floating tall ship might not cast off down the Delaware River, Chef Ralph Fernandez promises an adventure of another sort: the culinary kind. Inspired by the South Seas, Fernandez’s menu offers an eclectic mix of Southwestern, American, and French techniques and ingredients; dishes range from Stroganoff with Zinfandel-braised short ribs to Thai Filet Mignon & Shrimp. Whether sitting on one of the many outdoor decks enjoying views of the city, or tucked inside the elegantly appointed dining rooms, guests are sure to find one stunningly unique dining experience.

Title: | Dinner for two at Moshulu |
We had a lovely experience on Sat. night at Moshulu. We'd been looking forward to it, and had heard mixed reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were all friendly and accomodating, the service was quick, but not too quick, and the FOOD was FABULOUS. I had the Crispy Asian Shrimp appetizer, which could not have been better, and my partner had the Wild Mushroom Tortellini, although too small of a portion, was delicious. The main courses were cooked to perfection! I had the filet with the 'Chef Special', and my boyfriend had the Surf & Turf, both absolutely melted in our mouths. The only 2 things I could say negatively are that I think it's poor that you have to pay an extra $8-10 to get a vegetable to go with your already pricey entree, and the fact that we had an inexpensive bottle of wine, which is fine, (glad they had it to offer to those who don't need a $100 bottle with dinner), but we did pay $45 for an $8 bottle. Other than that - the experience was great, we left pleasantly full, completely satisfied. I would definitely recommend it to others as a perfect special occasion meal.
