Sarcone's - Restaurant Review

Awarded Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” in 2008, owners Louis Sarcrone Jr. and Anothony Bucci have had a huge success since their opening in 1997. The deli is located just 50 feet from the bakery where all of the award winning bread is made. Campo’s Deli has a variety of daily specials and soups you can choose from. They are well known for their “Hoagies” filled with top Italian meats in their signature fresh baked bread. They are located on South 9th Street with comfortable indoor seating. If you’re looking for a great casual home style sandwich, come to Sarcone’s.

Address: 4365 Main Street, Philadelphia, PA 19127 (Map)

Jake's Restaurant

Located in Manayunk, Philadelphia’s funky, high-energy, artsy neighborhood, Jake’s Restaurant is a lively, sexy spot to meet friends for drinks and stay for dinner. Be warned, though; this is a place you may not want to leave. Chef/owner Bruce Cooper’s chic regulars make a habit of staying all night, savoring his unique brand of stylish, regional American food. While fine dining can be pretentious or stuffy, at Jake’s it is neither. The kitchen is in sync with its customers’ desire for both fun and flavor in their food. For instance, on a recent visit, the prix fixe menu was titled “Jake’s Clam Bake,” which featured a popular four-course clam bake-style shellfish menu paired with wine. Unfortunately, sunshine and the seashore are not included, but with the steady buzz from the bright energy in the room, you won’t need them.

Delinquent account! This restaurant has an unpaid balance for our services. Unfortunately, it has been our experience that account delinquency is the result of an establishment’s financial difficulties, which also commonly translate into a deterioration in service and food quality. As we have not been given the opportunity to assess the status of this restaurant, we cannot in good faith recommend it to our customers. While we can’t currently endorse this venue, we are happy to suggest a number of other high quality restaurants to meet all your dining needs. Thank you for your understanding.

Address: 3945 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (Map)

Distrito Modern Mexican

Get your spice on at Distrito Modern Mexican—a colorful, hip Mexican restaurant and cantina. Keeping it traditional with their house specialties of Ceviches, Sopas, Tacos, Los Moles, and more—but keep it kitschy and fun with their retro-inspired décor, fit with colorful pink neon lights and a mesh of upscale and decidedly tacky design. Chef Jose Garces, a master of Latin cuisine, aims to create culinary creations that fuse traditional dishes with a modern interpretation. With options for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, plus cocktails and finger food, Distrito Modern Mexican is a one-of-a-kind place to dine.
